You are THE Star!

These days people love to document their lives, capture all the special moments. They also want to be a star - to feel important.

Well how about you hire some paparazzi to follow you around and document the occasion? I think this would be so fun for an engagement or bachelor/bachelorette party. You deserve the star treatment and it would be so much fun!

This is becoming a huge trend right now. Celeb 4 A Day offers the service in Los Angeles, Austin and San Francisco. I am sure you could talk to some photographers in your area (maybe even your wedding photographer) and see if they would be up for it. The cost is a bit steep - running about $500 for 30 mins to $2500 for 2 hours.

I can picture it now: Boy sets up romantic dinner, hires limo, sets up delivery of flowers tableside. He pops down on one knee proposes - of course she screams YES - as they leave the restaurant the paparazzi is all around, snapping pictures, asking how he proposed, did she say Yes? lets see the ring...the streets go crazy. People are wondering what is going on and you and your fiance feel like STARS! Your engagement was just recorded and you will have amazing pics to show for it!

It's Spring!!

I am so ready for Spring - I need warm weather and can't wait to start gardening. Decorate your home with some easy Spring accessories - perfect for Easter and the next few weeks. Hang a bright floral wreath on your front door - Either silk forsythia or pansies. Pull out your crisp white linens.

For your Easter table give everyone a chocolate bunny, set egg candles around (unscented to not disturb the ham) and put the potted plant down into an Easter Basket as a centerpiece. The Tulips or Daffodils will be great for the next few weeks then plant them outside!

Don't forget to dye some eggs!! My husbands family plans to do this on Saturday night.

We Will Miss You

Chad McNaughton
June 21, 1969 - March 12, 2008

My best friends husband passed away last week. Very unexpected, complications from a strep bacteria. Chad was a wonderful man, loving husband and the most amazing father. Besides his parents and siblings he leaves behind my bf and two small boys. This sort of thing is just not supposed to happen. We are too young.

There was a celebration of life at their church yesterday - it was the most amazing thing I have seen. The hallways and foyer were full of pictures and memorabilia, the service included a media slide show and a time for people to talk about Chad. My bf had so much strength she even got up to speak. She is strong and there are is so much outpouring of love she will survive. But my heart aches for her. After the service everyone, I mean hundreds of people poured into the fellowship hall for a Penn State Tailgate party - which would have made the 'Tailgate King' happy.

Chad thank you for your bear hugs, your smile, your support and always looking out for others. We will miss you and hold you close in our hearts.

So reminders to us all - life is short so take each day and love your family and friends, let grievances go and enjoy every moment. I am going to go tell my husband how much he means to me....

I'm Back...

Sorry I haven't written in awhile - life has gotten crazy.

The Bahamas was wonderful and very relaxing. I saw about 2 weddings a day - very simple, small but beautiful. Some were just on the beach with the rocks and ocean behind them and others took advantage of preset gazebos. The Royal Bahamanian has an off shore Island - Sandals Cay. Here is a picture of their wedding site. Isn't the view beautiful??

I would say overall we had a nice time but service could use a little work. I would have been upset had we been on our honeymoon. I did like the all inclusive part b/c we didn't have to carry money all around so next time I want to try Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica.

Off to the Bahamas!

My husband and I leave today for sunny Nassau - we are staying at the Royal Bahamian Sandals Resort.

I plan to check out the location for some destination weddings. I am meeting with their onsite wedding consultant to go over all the options. Hopefully there will be a wedding that I can peak in on!

Wouldn't it be great to have a Preston Bailey Inspired wedding at the Beach? I also plan to enjoy this little weekend vacation; walk in the sand, eat yummy island food, drink fruity drinks, relax and hopefully get a tan!

So the next post from me will be next week - look for all sorts of Sandals information.

Philadelphia Flower Show

Is absolutely amazing! If you have a chance you must go! It's at the convention center until Sunday. Philadelphia Flower Show Tickets are $24 at the door.

The theme this year is 'JAZZ IT UP' - They actually set up a mini Bourbon Street. All the exhibitors/landscapers created beautiful floral renditions of what Jazz it Up meant to them. I saw everything from ponds and alligators to a waterfall out of a piano and a bunch of frogs playing the horns (in addition to the flowers)!

If you like to garden there are great examples of container gardening!

Enjoy the pictures:
