Wedding Graffiti #2

At Ana and Dougs wedding we used a name logo created by Wedding Graffiti - it looked great on the mirror wall behind the dance floor.

This is such a neat idea to add a little something to your event.

Ana and Doug

I just finished my last wedding of the summer and it was at a new venue for me.
Celebrations at the Bay by Uptown Catering

It is a gorgeous site overlooking the bay in MD, the food was fantastic and the couple adorable. Ana came to me not knowing how to pull the event together. She needed guidance with the colors and details (my favorite part!).

She got many items from Peru but wasn't sure where or how to use them. The sage and rose colors came together just perfect. Can't wait for the professional pictures, especially of them out on the dock.

Wedding Insurance

Should You or Shouldn't You get Wedding Insurance??

Wedsafe offers liability and cancellation protection. If you are concerned about the bad weather, extreme sickness, military leave or an alcohol related accidents I highly recommend Wedsafe. I don't get anything from Wedsafe for the suggestion I just want to make sure all couples are covered if there is a problem and if the wedding must be rescheduled this protects your investment.

This Policy can protect you against certain types of financial losses you may incur in the event of unpredictable situations during the period leading up to and including your wedding day.

A few months ago I had a client that had their wedding gifts stolen during the reception, it was a hotel issue. I wish I had encouraged them to get insurance b/c it would have covered the replacement of these gifts.

There are many different levels to pick from - check them out.

The Thank You Note

These days with email and text messages some people are forgetting the personal handwritten note. They aren't even sending birthday cards, just birthday texts. I wish people would get back to being a little more personal. I know lives are busy but the joy of getting a handwritten note or card speaks wonders.

Brides and grooms should especially have special note cards available during the wedding planning. They are going to have to send a lot of notes. 'Thank You' notes to the parents for the engagement party, for shower gifts, for all the wedding professionals for a job well done and of course a note to all the guests for attending the wedding and/or sending a gift.

If you are going to send a note before you are married its a good idea to have your name or personal monogram on the card.

If you are sending notes to your wedding professionals or guests after the wedding, use your new name, names or monogram.

Don't get the standard 'Thank You' written card because its nice to be a little more personal, show off your style and you can use them for all occasions.

Here are some of my favorite resources:
Cross My Heart - print your own name or monogram on cutsie cards
Checkerboard cards and invites for something a little more formal
Moo note cards and calling cards using your own pictures
For Your Party notecards and other personalized items

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Today the movers came with all our stuff and we are officially in our house. We are living amongst boxes and its a mess but its all ours and I am so excited.

To top it all off some ladies in the neighborhood came by to welcome me and in minutes of meeting they were inviting me to their book club and even brought me fresh baked cookies.

Now that is what I am talking about!! What a nice gesture, thank you.

What a great neighborhood this is going to be for us!

Making Your Guests Happy

Its no more Bridezilla - Brides and Couples are thinking of their guests more and more. I get asked all the time for ways to make the travel, accommodations, registry and wedding more enjoyable for the guests.

Here are some of my tips:
-Send save the date cards with info on hotel and travel arrangements
-Create a wedding website; put all your information on here including maps and fun things to do around town
-Create a registry that has different types of items on it and different price points; make sure there is an address on file so your guests can ship them directly to you
-Make a welcome bag for all hotel guests; include a welcome letter, directions and some munchies
-If your budget allows provide transportation for guests to ceremony and reception
-If your ceremony will include a joining of religions; explain them in a program
-Do not have a cash bar at the reception
-Do something unexpected; change the scenery from garden cocktails to after party club setting or change the colors from all light pink ceremony to hot pink and red at the reception.
-Make your event personal; show your style and add unique touches as a monogram, your favorite color, food or activity

and lastly make sure you are having fun; guests will follow your lead!

The Beach

It doesn't get any better then this! I am enjoying the beach with my family this week.
Sun, Surf and Sand!! The weather has been great, despite some evening showers.

I hope everyone can take a break from wedding plans to enjoy a vacation, either at the beach, camping or even going to an amusement park. Take a break and enjoy your fiance with out talking about the wedding.
