More Monograms

Another twist on using your monogram at your wedding. We have all seen the floral wreath letters on the church doors but how about something more simple. Letters like this can be found at any craft store for under $10.

Use them on the church doors then have someone move them to the reception doors.
Carry the simplicity of the letters over to your program, menu cards and light design on the dance floor. Its all about carrying the theme throughout your event.

I was so excited to go get the new Martha Stewart Collectors Edition Magazine. Couldn't wait to to open it and see the new 270 favorite ideas.

Well much to my disappointment its the SAME thing they have put out the past 2 years. Same layout, same picture etc. I was really hoping they would take advantage of all the NEW ideas and trends.

cute cover - great pink and green picture but how about cake pictures we haven't been seeing for the past 5 years!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS IDEA - Create a monogram or initial on a pumpkin! Use this idea for your doorstep to greet trick or treaters, have it line the aisle at your next outdoor wedding ceremony or even use the smaller size as a centerpiece.

Right now Michaels and AC Moore have carvable pumpkins that you can keep year to year. You can't use real candles inside but you could put battery operated white lights. I am making mine today!

So what do you dress your little flower girl in?? I often get asked this question - my advice is to make sure the dress suits the girls style and age and also the time of year and formality of the wedding.

I was doing some research for a client and came across some beautiful dresses.
Joan Calabrese available in Philadelphia, Ardmore and Malvern. She uses great fabric combinations and beautiful trims.
How about this for Fall (a joan calabrese)
Or something more formal (a joan calabrese)

US Angels available all across PA including Philadelphia, Wayne, Ambler and Bensalem. A little more traditional but perfect for the young flower girl. This dress comes in chocolate for a fall wedding or lighter colors for that perfect outdoor affair.

NBC & Martha Stewart do it again!

Jessica and Cody are married!! A beautiful wedding on the plaza then they headed of to Tiffany and Co for their reception.

I just watched the coverage - what a beautiful ceremony - pinks and yellows. Then then reception set up; all the Tiffany inspired details- the long tables, the rose topiaries, the ghost chairs, champagne ice bar, the saltwater taffies at each place setting, the mini pancakes and other yummy breakfast foods. Wow!! Darcy really did an awesome job. Did you see the fabric flowers? I am sure her blog will have more pictures as the day goes on.

Hanging Dahlia Decorations

I just started going through Martha Stewarts new Magazine and found so many cool things. Here is a great decoration to make for your back yard parties or have at a bridal or baby shower. They are so easy to make and just imagine the possiblities with all the colored tissue paper options!

How to Make the Pom-Poms
You'll need tissue paper and 24-gauge white cloth-covered floral wire.
1. Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inch wide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.

2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.

3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

4. Tie a length of mono filament to floral wire for hanging.

Voila!

If you have extra tissue paper, wrap your vases and add candles for centerpieces.
